It’s been a whirlwind year for multi-award winning superstar Sjava. This unstoppable trailblazer has proven in more ways than one why he deserves the title as one of SA’s top artists
His Music– The Kwazulu-Natal native ’s debut album, Isina Muva, catapulted him to stardom. With massive hits like Ekuseni, the album becomes an overnight success. Sjava received a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Produced Album, and yet another SAMA for Best Music Video – Ameni.
His Acting Skills – Before he changed careers to music, which we’re eternally grateful for, the multifaceted artist spent his time crafting his skills as an actor. He was so successful he became a judge at the South African Film And Television Awards (SAFTAS)

Fashion Trend Setter – Over and above his singing, Sjava is known for his eccentric sense of style. Known for wearing traditional Zulu inspired attire, the stylish muso is vocal about his heritage and proudly maintains that his fashion is an ode to his mother’s religion – Nazareth (Shembe).
Fan Favourite – Not only is he loved by fellow musicians, but he is a big hit with South African audiences whose votes helped him win the DSTV rising star award.
Internationally Recognised Star – The uber talented Sjava further put South Africa on the map when he won the 2018 BET Award for Best International Artist. Sjava is the second from Mzansi to clinch the prestigious award after Black Coffee. Sjava dedicated his award to his fans, the people of his hometown Bergville, and his family.
